4th of July

The 4th of July is a great holiday. There are lots of things to do. Hope for sunny weather and cool nights. If you haven’t already planned your holiday, then here are some fun things to do.

  • Go to the Lake.
  • I always remember the times at the lake when I was young. At a cabin or in a park, a holiday at the lake is always memorable. Swimming, fishing and outdoor activities like horseshoes and Jarts keep the fun going.

  • Have or Find a Pool Party.
  • If you can’t go to the lake, find a pool. If you have a pool you can have your own party, or you have to talk someone you know with a pool into throwing one. Most of the fun of the lake and a lot less driving.

  • Have or Find a Barbecue.
  • No, lake or pool available? You can still have your own barbecue or go to one thrown by someone else. Same fun filled atmosphere without the water. Be sure to bring something along to share.

  • Find a 4th of July Festival.
  • OK, so your friends are all as lame as you about throwing a party, so find a community that is throwing one. These usually include food, drinks, entertainment and music.

  • Go to the Park for a Picnic.
  • Have a picnic at the park. Faster and less time consuming than a full blown barbecue or party. Grill up some hot dogs and burgers for some good food and fun, then go onto the fireworks display.

  • Find a Fireworks Display.
  • No 4th of July is complete without fireworks. Check your local areas to see when and where the fireworks will be. Metro areas often have displays in different areas on different days, so make sure you catch one.

  • Get Your Own Fireworks.
  • Have fun with the kids by getting your own fireworks. Laws vary from community to community so make sure you don’t get into trouble. Memories of sparklers, firecrackers and Roman candles still are fresh in my mind. Safety should be your first priority.

I hope you plan your holiday packed with friends, fun and activities. These are just a few of the many things you can do for the holiday. Be safe and be wild. Create some memories.
