Reduce Weight Easily

Another MeetUp group invitation appeared in my email inbox, nothing unusual about that. However, the introduction to the group prompted me to write this disclaimer for those who are unfamiliar with the power of words.

Words are thoughts, thoughts create your feelings and reality. Therefore, be careful what you think and say. The Universal Laws hold that what we think, say, feel and do in each moment come back to us to create our reality. Energy moves in a circular fashion, so what goes around does come around. The combined words, thoughts, feelings and actions of everyone on the planet creates our collective consciousness, it creates the world we see.

Now that you know my frame of reference, I will disclose what prompted me to write about the MeetUp headline. “Join us for our 12 week Health & Weight Loss Challenge. Lose Weight, get healthy and win $$$.”

Weight Loss is a no-win proposition. The word ‘loss’ catapults one’s unconscious mind into deprivation anxiety and lack. However, many people, who have done many things to ‘lose’ weight will come to this MeetUp and through shear determination and grit, lose weight, only to regain some or all and sometimes more weight.

The reason for this phenomenon is simple. No one wants to lose anything. No one says, ‘I want to lose my money, looks, hair, youth, family, friends, car, job, marriage, car keys or other valuables.’ Yet, we tell ourselves to lose weight. Losing is anathema to our psyche, albeit is for a good reason. Upon losing something, people frantically look for it. When we can not find something we stress, worry, and sometimes spend hours looking and searching for it. Thus, with subtle unconscious resistance, we sabotage weight loss success either during or after the desired loss.

Weight Loss Challenge seemingly is a statement of motivation. However, it has a negative connotation as well. Challenge conjures up thoughts of hard work, struggle and strife. No one wants to work hard, struggle and face strife. While motivation may be what the majority of people internalize, they need to reject the negative connotation in order to continue focusing on the goal. That being the case, it is far more effective to eliminate any negative connotation.

Last, but not least, “Lose Weight,…and win $$$.” What is the message? The message is the MeetUp organizer believes people lack motivation to reduce weight and/or join such a group and that bribery is the solution to stimulate motivation. If they lack motivation to join such a group, how will they be motivated to do what it takes to reduce weight?

Changing the headline will bring those people, who are motivated, thus, more success for the group and the organizer. Omitting the bribe and enticing them with what the group is about – Gaining the body weight they desire. “Join us for our 12 week Health & Weight Reduction Program. Reduce Weight Easily, Gain Health and The Body You Desire.
