Starcraft II Strategy – Basic Protoss Build Order

Using the Protoss race is incredible and gives you a ridiculous advantage if you know what you are doing. Of course you want to make sure you are doing specific things, basic fundamentals like constantly scouting your opponents, countering anything your opponent is doing.

The reason why this is the basic Protoss build order is simply because it gives you the nice ability to be able to change at the drop of a dime. This is a great build order and we are going to give you a short list, and then go into detail if you are just starting!

Protoss
• 9/10 – Warp the Pylon
• 10/18 – Chrono Boost Nexus
• 12/18 – Gateway
• 13/18 – Assimilator
• 14/18- Pylon

Protoss in Detail
This is a nice little build that gives you the ability to react to your opponent. You want to make sure you are building probes until before the supply cap right at 9, and at this point you want to build a pylon, your first one, and you want to make sure that you wall off your ramp or choke point.

We do not mean to completely block yourself in, but you rather just want to create a choke point and be able to block off a ramp with simply one zealot (zealots are way stronger than zergs in melee combat).

After this, you want to make sure you are constantly sending your probes out after they build the stuff, because they just warp it. You also want to make sure at 12/18 that you build your gateway, send your probe back and make sure you are creating half of your choke point.

You want to make sure you are getting your first assimilator down at 13/18 for versatility purposes. At 14/18, you finally want to throw down your second pylon. That’s all, and that’s it, it gives you the ability to do a great deal of different things.

You also want to make sure you are scouting your opponent with a probe. And if you are not being rushed, you want to build a cybernetics core to learn warpgate. You can go heavy infantry with zealots and stalkers you can keep throwing down gateways and you can get 4 early in the game.

You can even go for the early mechanical build and go for the robotics bay and go for the early colossi. So you can go for infantry, mechanical, or air with this build, adjusting to your opponent!
