Vampire Wars Facebook Game Review

Vampire wars is a free browser game from Zynga. It is mostly text-based, but some graphical representations are present to entice the gamer and get a vampire feel of the environment. You can play Vampire Wars on Facebook and in MySpace but this review is only within the context of the Facebook version.

  • Gameplay
  • There are 4 basic elements of gameplay in vampire wars. They are missions, combat or PvP, building your clan and consulting elders.

You start off in Vampire wars by doing missions. Missions allow you to gain blood which you need in order to level up and learn abilities. Leveling up basically boosts your stats and abilities are in turn used to do other missions and on PvP or Person to Person combats.

In PvP combats, you challenge other players and their corresponding clans. You have to be weary of attacking other vampires who have a bigger clan size than yours and has a higher skill ranking.

Clans are essential to winning PvP. Your clan members will sometimes jump in the combat (you’ll see through a text indication that a friend attacked) and help you win. You can build up your clan by referring friends.

Elders give some bonuses like rare abilities (Visit Akem’s Gamble, active magic (through Mandy), Collect items in exchange for blood, Craft items for extra stat boost and some elders such as Dracula appear on special events

    Graphics

Vampire wars only uses static but high quality images of different vampire personas and attitude, creatures like dragons, and mission items. You can customize how your vampire avatar looks like in the avatar shop such as the gender, body type, head, torso, legs, feet, accessories and background image. For some items, you need to acquire favor points which can be acquired through missions or buying using real money (commonly dollar) on-line.

    Controls

There isn’t much control needed for vampire wars except a for a mouse. Perhaps some hot keys could have been useful. The screen can also get limited at times but you can minimize your screen size or maximize by pressing and holding Ctrl and – or Ctrl and + to maximize. At most times, you don’t need to re-size your screen.

    Music

There is no music or sound involved in vampire wars which could make it a little boring to play. However, the game is highly maintained and lots of new features are always available to compensate for this.

    Replay Value

Vampire wars regularly put new events such as the recent revive Dracula event and Russia missions. This way, players do not easily gain a sense of superiority as new missions and gimmicks are always available.
