Your Presence and Persona

Everyone has a unique presence – a persona. Your persona is analogues to a product brand or logo. What is your unique presence – persona? Have you considered what your presence – persona is projecting about you?

Consider those in the public eye. Their presence – persona, are well honed to promote their best features. Others might give their presence – persona little thought or credence. However, anyone’s presence – persona is what people either, gravitate toward or away from. The cliché “You never get a second chance to make a good first impression,” is applicable.

Within the first minute of meeting someone, you form your impression of that person and they of you; based upon the quality of the voice, body language, the emotional rapport that is established and the delivery. Whether you want to sell, educate or inspire, your delivery makes the difference in your personal and professional success.

The Dalai Lama has a presence about him that draws the majority of people in. Even though his words may sound ordinary, the way he presents himself to the world makes what he says seem extraordinary. His attention to how his demeanor impacts people makes such a difference that people mark their lives by having been with him.

One of the Dalai Lama’s most famous statements is: “Whenever possible, practice kindness; and remember it is always possible.” His persona exemplifies kindness.

You can develop and deliver your unique presence. Remember to focus on reinforcing your strongest assets while eliminating habits that distract from your message. There are many public figures, who, have a highly effective impact on people, who can be your role model. Or you can pick and choose some aspects from several people and make it your own. You can develop your style and emerge a more convincing, credible and successful person. Creating new and dynamic skills can be done affordably, conveniently and in a short period of time.

Pause now. Ponder or meditate on a deeper understanding of what true kindness means – then – you can emulate that quality as your own. Ponder what you want to cultivate as your unique presence – your persona. Remember where you are right now; it is possible to practice the type of kindness that transforms, and promotes power and love where you are. You can practice and develop the type of impression you want to present.
