A Homeless Christmas

Imagine not having anywhere to go for Christmas. No family, no friends to turn too and no home. Imagine a homeless Christmas.

For most of us the festive season offers a chance to relax, spending time being surrounded by loved ones and eating mountains of warm, mouth watering food. Unfortunately for thousands of others Christmas merely underlines the desperate and dire situation they find themselves in. These unfortunate homeless people have no warm homes where they will feel safe and loved, no great feasts to enjoy and no feeling of joy that the season should bring.

Vets to America: Thank YOU

As we approach Veterans Day, it’s gratifying today to see the way our military men and women are appreciated by the citizenry from the talk show hosts who continually thank veterans who call in for their service to the people in uniform in airports or other public places who are thanked by strangers who recognize their commitment to our nation. This is quite a turnaround from the treatment returning Viet Nam era vets received though they bore no responsibility for the policies that put them in harm’s way and only strove to do their duty.

UFO, Alien Invasion and Channeling

UFO is simply defined by it’s name: unidentified flying object. Hence if a strange bird flies across your house, it can fall into the category of U.F.O. If at the same time a clairvoyant sees an astral or even an ethereal object that he or she cannot identify, it can also be called U.F.O. And some of these sightings may be photographed whether they are physical or ethereal depending on the spiritual radiations of the observer, and if at the same time the observer is also the photographer. For the imprint on the photographic plate depends on what the photographer can see – the person whose aura surrounds the camera and whose radiations and thoughts therefore envelopes the photographer. That is why some people who can see the little elemental beings – gnomes, flower elves, nixies – are also able to photograph them as long as they can see them, while others who cannot see them may not be able to, even if they focused on the object unless they have some inherent sighting abilities they are not aware of.

Midnight Shopping – The New Normal

Associated Press reporters out of Fredericksburg, Va. reported that, “….Once a month, just after midnight, the beeping checkout scanners at a Wal-Mart just off Interstate 95 come alive in a chorus of financial desperation…..Here and at grocery stores across the country, the chimes come just after food stamps and other monthly government benefits drop into the accounts of shoppers who have rationed things like milk, ground beef and toilet paper and can finally stock up again.”

Children in Care Homes

When I was young there was a children’s care home in our town. My friend told me about it and occasionally when we drove past I wondered what it was like. Was it like a hospital inside? Did they have teddy bears? Were the people nice to them?

Is Your Child Safe?

  • The common reasons are Divorce and parental disputes. I realize this happens but it seems so hard to believe there are parents out there who will go to such great lengths. I guess when a child is concerned a parent will do just that. Sometimes parents don’t agree where to live and some will actually take their child and go disappear from the face of the earth and go as far as changing their names and their professions. Burn the Seeds of Violence, Not Qurans

Listening to the news this morning, I found myself feeling both saddened and angry at some minister I don’t even know. He intends to burn the Quran, despite General Petreus’ concern that such action will put U.S. troops in danger, despite Secretary Clinton’s admonitions, despite the fact that one of the foundations of our country is religious freedom. Where to start? Of course, the only place to start is my primary area of influence, myself.

Remembering the Secret War Against the Nazis

Seventy years ago this week, Winston Churchill approved the creation of the Special Operations Executive (SOE), the British secret service ordered to ’set Europe ablaze’.

Born in the darkest days of the war, SOE was tasked with encouraging Resistance in occupied countries, carrying out sabotage and training guerilla fighters. In the course of the war it dropped thousands of agents behind enemy lines to destroy the Nazi war effort from within. Known to insiders as ‘The Firm or ‘The Racket’, the regular armed services and MI6 considered it a group of dangerous amateurs, but the bravery of SOE’s agents became legendary.

What the World Needs Now Is Love!

The world would be a better place if we all learned to live in peace with one another.

This is not a new concept, I know, but merely reflecting on this sentiment is vastly different than taking it to heart and incorporating it into our lives in “real time.” It appears that the world-at-large is becoming more and more combative: rallying against one thing or another-no matter how insignificant it may actually be in the overall scheme of things-in order to support a cause or be a voice that gets itself heard in the world. The desire for change is inherent in all of us: it is a part of our creative, spiritually-based nature and is necessary for the evolution of our species. Conversely, hurting others to get a point across or using control and pain to affect change is not natural at all as it emanates from our human, earthly-bound side that is mired in ego.
