Coping With the Inevitable Hair Loss After Pregnancy

Losing your hair a few months having a baby is no joke, but it’s not permanent, either. After some of your body functions were on hold during pregnancy, hair loss is just another way that your body is getting back to normal. It may seem upsetting to find a lot more hair than usual falling out of your head, but there’s no reason to fear, because your hair will grow back in again as it returns to the way it was pre-pregnancy. When you experience hair loss after pregnancy, it’s a good time to invent a new hairdo for yourself in order to allow the problem to show as little as possible. However, it’s also possible that you’ll be so busy with your new baby that you have little time to think about your own appearance.

Nothing should take away your pleasure at having created a new little life, especially worries about the way you look. Losing hair after pregnancy is a normal process. It’s possible that while you were pregnant, you didn’t notice as much hair coming out in your brush or sink. That’s because your hormones changed, and the normal loss of as many as 100 hairs per day was put on hold. Did your hair seem to get thicker and more luxurious during pregnancy? Hair retention during that time was greater than normal. However, several months following the birth, your body is going to go back to normal, so all of the hair that didn’t fall out as per your normal schedule is now going to do so.

You can plan ahead for this occurrence since you know it’s going to be happening. Maybe you’ll want to purchase a wig to wear while your hair is growing back in or some pretty scarves you can tie over your head. Many people just live with the phenomenon, because it is normal. It’s all pretty much up to the individual as to how they want to handle this inevitable hair loss, but it should help knowing in advance what’s going to take place so that you can be prepared for it.

Post-pregnancy hair loss isn’t the end of the world, and you have far better things to think about. Instead, get ready for the possibility, and then put it into the back of your mind as you concentrate on the wonderful things that are happening in your life.
